Bursary Award Winner Hazem Kais Launches ‘Human Nature’ Winter 2016 Collection At 4
Hazem Kais’ inaugural womenswear collection ‘Human Nature’ draws on parallels between human emotions and volcanic natural forces. Illustrating these notions through colour, drapery and texture, the collection blends rich and tactile fabrics with dramatic and poetic form.
Last year 4 worked with Creative Space Beirut, a fashion school founded by Lebanese designer, Sarah Hermez, to host 9 student collections, awarding one student – Hazem – a bursary to make his first full collection. Having spent the year designing and manufacturing the collection, this winter, we are delighted to be exclusively stocking his debut line.
Creative Space Beirut (CSB) is a non-profit fashion school that runs as a 3-year program for those that lack the resources to pursue a creative education at expensive institutions. Since 2011, the innovative school has been dedicated to fostering the talent of young aspiring designers across Lebanon and the Middle East.
“This collection was a journey into my feelings and perceptions of human behaviours. The vast emotions that boil under the facade of the skin awaiting a volcanic explosion.” – Hazem Kais
