Frozen in Time

Liverpool’s iconic Lewis’s department store has become the subject of an exhibition at the city’s National Conservation Centre. Frozen in time, the fifth floor of of the department store has been closed since the early 80s, and still houses an untouched 1950s restaurant and 1970s hair salon. Along with creative project managers Neutral Spoon, local photographer Stephen King has produced a collection of haunting photographs capturing the scene alongside portraits of current and ex-employees. The exhibition will begin on the 26th of this month and continue through the end of August. Running alongside the exhibition, the project also has a website which will present a collection of captivating memories of the forgotten floor by past and present employees.
