Scale Architecture’s Infinity Forest was created as part of the Laneways By George street exhibition 2009. Designed by architect Matt Chan, urban theorist Katie Hepworth, and artist Isabel Cordeiro, the installation featured a small timber-walled, raised area containing a micro topography, a number of Silver Birch trees and a reflective walls which created the ‘never-ending’ forest illusion.

Located in the Penfold and Hosking Place laneway,  the exhibit was strategically placed in the path of a commonly-used pedestrian shortcut and smoking area.

Laneways By George seeks to transform and highlight some of Sydney’s hidden urban spaces.  Infinity Forest was one of eight exhibits found primarily between George and Pitt streets in Sydney in January 2010.

The 2010 Laneways By George is set to begin in September this year.
