Longtime fashion stalwart Issey Miyake presented its collection for Autumn Winter 2014 at Paris Fashion Week last week.

The show saw the Japanese brand playing with both texture and surreal patterning for the new season, executing flowing pieces tinged with a digitized psychedelica. The silhouettes here – trousers, blazers, quilted outerwear – reflected a more generous tailoring approach this season.

Elswhere, a penchant for prominent buttons on trench coats and jackets appears to reference flamboyant zoot suits of the past.
