Lik + Neon by Gitta Gschwendtner

We’re all for interesting retail design concepts so when we heard of new store in hip East London, UK – it promptly made our ‘check it out’  to do list.

Design shop Lik+Neon commissioned Gitta Gschwendtner to redesign their eclectic and vibrant space with striking results.

The unique selection of products including T-shirts, art magazines, interior objects, jewellery and art pieces are displayed through a juxtaposition of order and randomness to reflect the diverse concept of the store. Magazines, CDs and records are displayed on a grid of elasticated ropes, while a seemingly-random composition of square pegs supports clothing and jewellery.

The pixelated effect of the pegs is mirrored by Gschwendtner’s arresting light installation devised from hundreds of plastic milk bottles, creating three glowing abstract clouds that illuminate the white interior.
