‘Livraria da Vila’ by Isay Weinfeld Arquitecto

‘Livraria da Vila’ is a bookshop in São Paulo with a truly unique store-front made of revolving bookcases, designed by Brazilian studio Isay Weinfeld Atquitecto.

Formerly a two-storey house, the narrow yet deep nature of the site insisted on a revolutionary use of the existing space, leading to a concept where books literally cover every wall and crevice of the store. Low ceilings, warm tones and indirect lighting lend themselves to the infinite shelving to create an intimate, unpretentious space with the feel of a second-hand bookstore.
