Missoni In Los Angeles, CA

To open its first branded boutique in Los Angeles, Missoni has chosen to express the sense of its own identity through the architecture, design and manufacture of Marzorati Ronchetti.

The building, which was designed by Patrick Kinmoth, uses interwoven aluminium sheets to cover a structure in glass, steel and cement. The effect is that of a material that protects and at the same time adorns, just like a Missoni garment over the body.

Marzorati Ronchetti has wrapped the shop in a metal cover of 3,900 metres in length, 11 tonnes in weight: sheets, painted in an opaque white powder and bent to imitate the folds of fabric on a frame, gently surround the central part of the store which stands out against the backdrop of the city in shining harmony.

4’s owner recently stopped by the building and we can report it’s a fine effort…
