4/4 With Erica Toogood
Having established herself as a versatile and dynamic designer of materiality and experimentation, Faye Toogood enlisted the help of her sister, Erica, in launching her fashion label Toogood.Faye has a distinctively singular and sculptural approach towards design and objects and she has applied that to the clothing label which is inspired by workwear and craft.
The collection features canvas coats with engineered arms, silk linings and hidden industrial snaps. Each garment is named and cut according to the craft of specific trades people, from road sweepers and oil riggers to mechanics and chemists.
We caught up with Erica in Paris recently to pick her brain with 4 quick fire questions.
An Inspiration: The British craftsman.
A Guilty Pleasure: A croissant or pain au raisin every morning with coffee and a glass of champagne at the end of the day during Paris Fashion Week.
A Hobby: Walking and in the countryside and discovering new cities.
A Memory: Faye and I playing in a garden in Rutland / in the middle of a farmland and discovering nature.
Toogood is exclusive to 4.
