Gareth Pugh Autumn Winter 2015 London Fashion Week
On Saturday 21st February Gareth Pugh returned to the London Fashion Week schedule after 7 years in Paris with a collection marking the 10th anniversary of his brand.
The show began with a creepy, hyper-real film in which a model hacked off her long blond hair with scissors, then smeared a red painted cross on her face as if preparing for battle. As the video bathed the catwalk in a red light, the models appeared, dressed in black, with the St George’s Cross on their faces.
A spectacle of silhouettes, furs, metallics, thorn-like sequins, leathers and billowing lightest silks were accompanied by the eerie, atmospheric music of long-time collaborator Matthew Stone, the score which also featured the chanting of fans from Sunderland football club, seemed symbolic of Pugh’s rule-breaking career as he returns from Paris to the city where it all started for him.
Gareth Pugh is exclusive to 4.
