Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography, France
The 25th Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography took place recently and the 2010 selection of young designers was as exceptional as ever.
It’s an event we have always wanted to attend and this year, twenty-two-year-old Belgian designer Alexandra Verschueren won the main prize with her origami-inspired collection. Her entirely handmade clothes were praised by the jury – which included designer Dries van Noten – for their structure and original implementations of the Japanese folding technique.
The public vote went to Tsolmandakh Munkhuu, a Paris-based Mongolian designer.
Of course, Hyères is not just for fashion – half of the festival is devoted to photography. See our selection after the following catwalk shots.
