‘Iceland’ by Tim Simmons

Photographer Tim Simmons has spent the past eight years travelling the world in search of unexplored vistas, both natural and urban, and his latest work is the product of six weeks spent in Iceland.

The series  reveals new elements of the “land of fire and ice”, which he says is “one of the few places you still get steaming cracks and colored landscapes.” This selection of photos depict the varied, magnificent nature of the unpredictable terrain, with the aid of artificial lighting and the land’s natural lava, steam and bubbling water sources.

His efforts to expose the environment in it’s untouched state is a commentary on our strained relationship with the planet.
