Larry Clark Controversy In Paris

The much-awaited retrospective of American director-photographer Larry Clark called ‘Kiss the Past Hello’ at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, opens on October 8th, but it already causes controversy.

The museum’s director has decided to forbid entry to visitors under the age of 18, fearing that a 2007 child-protection law in France might lead to the show’s closure.

Clark himself expressed astonishment at the news, saying he thought “France was more liberal than the United States.”

We haven’t seen the preview of the show yet, but given the Clark’s past depictions of sex, drug and violence among minors, the shown material might indeed be disturbing to some viewers.
