“I want to destroy everything.”
Those were the opening words in Matthew Miller’s show notes, and as a manifesto on his aesthetic it’s pretty accurate. Miller’s fascination with deconstruction has seen him pull all manner of menswear tropes apart in seasons past — the pinstripe suit, the prison uniform, the biker jacket, the army fatigue — and reassemble them with the frays and cuts and disjunctures worn proudly as badges of honor.
His Autumn Winter 2015 collection was a little simpler – flat, disciplined, overlapping planes fraying out at the hem – featuring clean-lined modern basics in cool stone, burgundy, indigo and grey tones.
Matthew Miller is exclusive to 4.
