In her “Observatories” series Noemie Goudal builds models in paper before unifying them in empty, endless aqua landscapes.

Evoking decay and abandon, the stark structures float like icebergs, questioning the limitation of reality and fantasy. “I don’t think that my pictures invite anyone into a fantasy world but rather a place made from the real that questions the fantasies, desires and fragility of the viewer.” explains Goudal.
