Peeling Back the Layers of Boris Bidjan Saberi
Boris Bidjan Saberi — a Persian-German designer based in Barcelona — launched his eponymous men’s label in 2007.
With his multicultural background, he describes his design philosophy in terms of hybrids, such as “secular spirituality,” “metropolitan religion,” and “elegant sloppiness.” Saberi is known for his blending and layering of natural fabrics like cotton and felt with manmade materials like vinyl and tar.
Now Saberi has launched a second line, called 11. The Autumn Winter 2015 collection, Snow Bleach, alludes to mountain soldiers and the camouflage used in snowy surroundings. The use of bleach mimics the uniforms, used on cashmere, felted wool and flannel.
Boris Bidjan Saberi’s Spring Summer 2015 collection will be available at 4 very soon.
