Playtime By Krads And LEGO, Iceland

‘Playtime’ is a travelling workshop developed by Icelandic and Danish architectural practice Krads in collaboration with Danish toy manufacturer LEGO.

The work was on show at the Reykjavík art museum in Iceland during designmarch 2011.
The workshop provides a space in which the public can explore and study various architecture themes and principles through LEGO.

At the center of the platform, Krads buildt-up an architectural scenario out of LEGO with loose pieces of the building bricks surrounding it for the public to interact with the existing structures and experiment with the built forms.

Being a strictly modular system, the bricks pose a challenging obstruction as only the one medium is allowed in the workshop.
