London took a breather from World Cup mania last Monday to gather atop Westfield Stratford City and toast the grand opening of Studio East Dining. A collaboration between heavy-hitting architects Carmody Groarke and everyone’s favorite East End eatery Bistrotheque, the pop-up restaurant offers an unparalleled experience, bringing the best of London dining to a live construction site.
Art-world luminaries like Tracey Emin, Antony Gormley, Dinos Chapman, Tim Noble & Sue Webster, Matthew Stone and Alice Rawsthorn turned out for the festivities. Not to be outshone, the fashion contingent also joined the fray with the likes of Gareth Pugh, Roksanda Ilincic, Roland Mouret, Erin O’Connor, Carri Mundane of Cassette Playa and Louise Gray.
Another reason to celebrate, the winners of Studio East: Laurence Kemball-Cook, Lee Broom, Tatiana Echeverri Fernandez and Julian J Smith, chosen by the posh panel of attendees as the next generation of London talents.
