Berlin has long been on our radar as one of those achingly cool places where the creative scene is constantly evolving. And as testament to the unique vibe of the city comes Tom Michelberger’s latest venture, The Michelberger Hotel.

Stepping away from modern hotel convention, Michelberger’s project combines the best of  hotel and hostel – a hotbed of personality, creative energy and radical humour. The attention to detail is second to none, from the one-of-a-kind lampshades made from vintage books, to the custom-created loop of films and clips that play on television sets, to the playful do-not-disturb signs. As Michelberger himself says, “Perfection does not create memories, because memories only result from movement, from a lively experience of interaction – with people, the surroundings and the atmosphere.”
